The A70 sits on a 2630mm wheelbase and is 4610mm long, 1790mm wide, and 1500mm high. Exterior design at the car’s front invokes that of Volkswagen Scirocco. The interior is pretty much that of a B30 sibling with slight differences.

The FAW A70 gets CA4GB16 Volkswagen-developed 1.6 liter (1598cc) four-cylinder petrol unit with 109hp and 155nm torque. The engine which is Euro V compliant is mated to either a five-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission.

The A70 sedan is FAW’s second model under the Junpai sub-brand after the D60 SUV. Alongside the petrol version, a pure-electric A70, called A70E, was also unveiled at the 2016 Beijing motor show, equipped with a 24.88kWh battery pack and boasting a driving range of 180km. Al-Haj FAW can develop a decent lineup here considering the kind of options offered by FAW out there. Since the launch of B30 sedan in Pakistan is on cards, it will not be possible for FAW to launch a similar vehicle with similar engine displacement. However, the A70 sedan perhaps with a smaller 1.3 liter engine, can be a good offering if it’s priced between the V2 hatchback & upcoming B30 sedan.

Price of the A70 sedan in China starts from 64,800 yuan (PKR 10.0 lac) up to 87,800 yuan (PKR 13.5 lac) for the fully loaded version.
