Earlier this week, KIA’s website was updated with Pakistan officially listed in the Asia Pacific market. The South Korean automaker is in process of making a comeback in Pakistan for the third time in 22 years, this time its partnered with a financially stronger Lucky group.
Reportedly the manufacturing and assembling facilities will be functional in the year 2019. However KIA vehicles will be available for purchase to car buyers in Pakistan as KIA-Lucky will start importing cars in 2018.

One of the vehicles that the company will introduce in Pakistan is the Sportage SUV, that has also been spotted testing on our roads on multiple occasions. As per the information available on Kia Pakistan’s website, here is what you can expect from the upcoming South Korean compact SUV.
The Fourth Generation Kia Sportage (QL)
The Sportage is currently in its 4th generation (QL) and according to KIA its contrasting sharp edges and smooth surfaces were inspired by modern fighter jets. The 4th gen Sportage has also won the 2016 Red Dot Award for Car Design, and IIHS Top Safety Pick rating for 2017.
The Dimensions:
The Sportage measures 4480x1855x1655mm with a wheelbase of 2670mm. Overall its bigger than the Honda HR-V and Suzuki Vitara but surprisingly has a relatively lower ground clearance.

The Kia Sportage in Pakistan will offer a choice of two petrol engines. A 2.0 liter MPi and 2.4 liter GDi.

Transmission:
Although as of yet, no information related to the transmission is available on Kia Pakistan’s website, however internationally the Sportage comes with a 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission while a 7-speed DCT gearbox is also available in certain trims.
