2019 Maruti WagonR Teased Ahead of Debut

Maruti has released the first teaser of the 2019 Suzuki WagonR ahead of its debut. The third generation model is being marketed as the “Big New WagonR” in India.

The 2019 third gen Wagon R is bigger than its predecessor. It measures 3,655 mm in length, 1,620 mm in width and 1,675 mm in height while having a 2,435 mm wheelbase. For the sake of comparison:

Not only that the new Wagon R has a bigger wheelbase, it is longer, wider and stands taller than the existing model. The improved wheelbase will also enhance the cabin space of the tallboy hatchback.

According to a leaked brochure image (courtesy Team BHP), the 2019 Wagon R in India will be available in three grades: LXi, VXi and ZXi. Key features will include power adjustable and folding outside mirrors, 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, tilt adjustable steering with audio and Bluetooth controls and 60:40 split folding rear seats.

All grades with come equipped with ABS with EBD, speed alert system, rear parking sensors, seatbelt reminders and a driver-side airbag as standard with 6 exterior color options on offer.

There will be two engines on offer, including the 1.0-liter K10B three-cylinder petrol unit and the 1.2-liter K12M four-cylinder petrol unit. The engines will be paired to a 5-speed manual transmission or a 5-speed automated manual transmission. The official launch of the all-new Maruti Suzuki WagonR will take place on the 23rd of January 2019 with priced expected to start around INR 4.25 lac.
