Kia Lucky Motors will commence the local production of two of its models from August this year, according to Business Recorder. According to the report, manufacturing facilities of the firm are complete and it will start manufacturing the units by August 2019 starting with 2.0 liter Sportage SUV and 1.0 liter Picanto hatchback.

The company will start accepting bookings of Kia Sportage in June and will begin delivering the units in August 2019. The booking of Kia Picanto will start in August and deliveries will begin in October 2019.
Furthermore, Kia Lucky Motors having received Greenfield status under Auto Policy 2016-21 and have submitted requests for withdrawal of 10% Federal Excise Duty (FED) levied on locally assembled vehicles having 1800 cc or above engine capacity. Since most of the vehicles in their lineup are of higher engine capacity. Hyundai-Nishat has also submitted the request as per reports.
