2020 Hyundai Verna Facelift Break Covers at Chengdu Auto Show

The 2020 Hyundai Verna facelift has just made its debut at the Chengdu Auto Show in China. The land of dragons has always been the first market to receive new models or facelift when it comes to Hyundai Verna.

The current generation Verna made its debut at the Chengdu Motor Show back in September 2016 and has received a facelift after a span of 3 years. The new model boast noticeable changes with front-end getting reminiscent of the China-only Hyundai Lafesta. The new grille, headlamps and bumper infuse together to make the fascia much sharper.

The rear-end is again very much inspired from the Lafesta and the new Sonata with slim connected tail lamps, integrated boot lid spoiler and chiseled bumper that features a sporty rear diffuser design with a central stop light underneath and vertically aligned reflectors tucked into the sides.

Although the interior of the Hyundai Verna facelift is not a complete redesign, it does feature a new 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a digital instrument cluster. The China-spec Verna is equipped well with features such as ventilated front seats, sunroof, wireless charging pad, auto AC, cruise control and up to 6 airbags.

Hyundai Verna in China comes available with naturally aspirated 1.4 liter and 1.6 liter petrol engines paired to either a 6-speed manual or CVT automatic transmission. Verna has been a popular subcompact in key markets; however the current design updates are likely to remain specific to the Chinese market. For other parts of the world the design treatment is expected to be less outlandish.
