Kia has released teaser renderings of the next generation K5 sedan which is known as Optima in international markets. The K5 name is specific for its domestic market– South Korea as well as China.

The images show a spectacularly stunning design which signifies Kia’s latest brand philosophy. Considered as a sister model to Hyundai Sonata, the latest generation of which debuted earlier this year, the next gen Optima is looking to be even more dazzling than its cousin Sonata.

Up front, the signature tiger nose grille becomes elongated and integrates the headlights more than ever. Outlining the grille is a fluidic LED signature light which add to the brilliance of new Optima’s design. Moving around to the rear, a horizontal taillight unit stretches across the width with dashed lights. There is also a prominent chrome strip that runs from the A-pillar out to the rear giving a coupe-ish look.

As for interior, the teaser design sketches show us a clean dashboard with a fully digital instrument cluster accompanied by an extra-wide infotainment screen. There are lesser buttons on the center console, while the gear lever has been replaced by an electronic rotary selector.

These renderings were published by Hyundai South Korea’s Facebook page, and while it doesn’t mention about when the official launch is scheduled to take place, we can assume that the new Optima/ K5 may break covers by mid 2020.
