BS-VI Compliant 2020 Hyundai Venue Launched in India at INR 6.7 lac

Hyundai has launched the updated BS-VI compliant Venue subcompact crossover SUV in India with prices starting from INR 6.7 lac for the petrol variant and INR 8.09 lac for the diesel variant. With the BS-VI upgrade, the petrol variants have becomes costlier by INR 20,000 whereas the diesel versions by INR 51,000.

Besides the upgraded engines, the Venue has also been fitted with some additional equipment, and it gets three new variants. While the 1.0 & 1.2 liter engines have seen an upgrade, the 1.4 liter engine has been replaced in favor of 1.5 liter unit borrowed from the Kia Seltos but in a lower state of tune, likely to generate 90hp and 220Nm of torque. The 1.5 liter diesel and the 1.0 liter turbo petrol get 6-speed manual gearboxes, while the turbo petrol also gets an optional 7-speed DCT. The 1.2-petrol comes with a 5-speed manual gearbox only.

In terms of equipment, higher trims of the Venue get features like auto climate control, an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, diamond-cut alloy wheels, wireless charging and Hyundai’s BlueLink connectivity technology. With this update, the entry-level E and mid-spec S variants get an Alternator Management System (AMS) meant to increase battery life. The SX variant now comes with a tire pressure monitoring system (TMPS), while the SX+ (automatic only) and SX(O) variants get an additional 12-volt power outlet as well.

Features include dual airbags, ABS with EBD, reverse parking sensors, central locking, impact sensing auto door unlock, speed sensing auto door lock, front seatbelt reminder, high-speed alert and ISOFIX child-seat anchorages are standard. Side and curtain airbags, ESC, VSM, HAC, rear camera, passive keyless entry, burglar alarm and more.
