Pakistan-Bound Hyundai Elantra and Tucson will be Obsolete Before Launch

Hyundai-Nishat showcased the Elantra sedan and Tucson crossover SUV at the 2020 Pakistan Auto Show (PAPS) in Lahore earlier this year. According to information, the company is preparing to launch these vehicles in our market later this year.

The Elantra that was showcased at the PAPS 2020 was the 6th generation model that made its debut in 2015 whereas the Tucson was the 3rd gen model that too is out there since 2015. Now when both of these cars are about to make their entry in Pakistan, the South Korean automaker has launched the all new 7th gen Elantra sedan, while its well on course to launch the 4th gen Tucson in near future as well.

The latest incarnation has brought these two, well in line with the new breed of Hyundai cars bearing the brand’s latest design philosophy called ‘Sensuous Sportiness’. According to Hyundai, all of its future designs including sedans & SUVs will be embodied by this design theme. Defined by the harmony between four of the fundamental elements- proportion, architecture, styling and technology, its aim is to bring instinctive beauty and create emotional value and desirability in Hyundai vehicles.

The all new Elantra comes with 1.6 & 2.0 liter engine options depending on the market as well as a hybrid option on offer. It is either powered by IVT (Intelligent Variable Transmission) as well as 6-speed dual clutch automatic. The all new Tucson too, will feature a hybrid setup for the first time along with a 2.5 liter petrol engine with an 8-speed automatic gearbox.
