Changan Alsvin Unveiled in Pakistan

Master Changan Motors have finally unveiled the much awaited Alsvin sedan in Pakistan in an event held at Marriott Hotel Karachi. However the company refused to disclose the prices at this stage which will be revealed towards January 2021 when the formal launch of the vehicle will take place.

As anticipated, the Alsvin sedan will come equipped with 2 engine options as offered elsewhere. There will be 3 versions in total; the base variant will get the 1.37L engine which is good for 95hp and 135Nm & will come paired to a 5-speed manual transmission. Then there will be a 1.5L version with a 5-speed DCT gearbox. The flagship Alsvin Lumiere version will get the same 1.5L/ DCT combo, but will offer various segment-first features putting it well ahead of the competition.

The Alsvin Lumiere in addition to a host of features, will benefit from 5 key features that aren’t available in similar vehicles of its class in the market, these include:

  • Sunroof
  • Tire Pressure Monitoring System
  • Engine Start/ Stop technology (SST)
  • Cruise Control
  • Heated Outside Mirrors

Furthermore all variants will come rich in equipment without a compromise on safety. The company boasts about Alsvin being the first sedan in Pakistan to have Euro-5 compliant Bluecore VVT engines under its hood. Salient features include projector headlamps with LED DRLs, alloy wheels, ivory beige interior with faux leather seats, electric power steering, power windows & mirrors, dual airbags, multi-function steering wheel, center arm rest, seatbelts (front/ rear), reversing camera, parking sensors, and 7-inch multimedia system with HMI (human machine interface) that allows user to reconfigure various functions such as air-conditioning, lights & locks.

Although the official prices are yet to be disclosed, the company is accepting pre-bookings which can be made online via Changan Pakistan’s official website. Initial batch of customers who book the vehicle will also benefit from 1-year free service according to the information given by the company. Line-off ceremony of the local assembled Alsvin sedan is expected on the 14th of December 2020.

Master Changan has reportedly injected an addition $36 million to produce the Alsvin locally. The prices as per company briefing will be set competitively with base variant to be priced closer to locally available hatchbacks whereas the higher-spec versions are expected to be priced lower than the competition as well.

Changan Alsvin will be backed by 3-years 100,000km warranty. Upon arrival, the Alsvin will compete against the likes of Toyota Yaris and Honda City as well as the upcoming Proton Saga and BAIC D20 sedans.
