VinFast, the budding automaker from Vietnam which stunned the world with two of its fascinating models at 2018 Paris Motor Show is now in process of introducing up to 11 more models in coming years.
The automaker currently sells Lux A2.0 sedan and Lux SA2.0 SUV both designed by Pininfarina and were based on out-gone BMW platform while utilizing BMW sourced engines. Then there is a small car based on the Opel Karl, called the Fadil which is the bestselling VinFast product. Lastly the Vietnamese automaker introduced the President SUV in September this year as the flagship model in its lineup. Currently VinFast rank 5th among auto brands in Vietnam, behind Hyundai, Toyota, Kia, and Honda with the Fadil hatchback its most popular model in terms of sales.

VinFast released the design sketches earlier this week after it recently commenced operations at the Lang Lang testing center located in south-east of Melbourne, Australia which it bought from General Motors for $30 million in September, building on its plans to enter the Australian market.
As for the sketches, there is a pickup truck which shows us a very American design, with a large blunt nose and big wheels. The fascia will remain connected to the signature VinFast styling with slimmer LED lights and distinctive V-shaped grille up front.

Other vehicles in development include a three-door hatchback, two different takes on a coupe-SUV, a small SUV, a four-door coupe, a couple of MPVs as well as a scooter. At least one of these vehicles will be electric, which is due to go on sale in the US next year. VinFast which is backed by Vietnam’s richest man Pham Nhat Vuong has plans to enter the US market having recently revealed to have set up a technical center in California.

Besides tapping in the US & Australian market, VinFast is also testing its vehicles in South Africa. According to company, it will eventually start exports hoping to be a top car manufacturer in ASEAN, making 500,000 cars per annum by year 2025. It expects to produce 100,000 to 200,000 vehicles per year in the first phase.
With an enhanced portfolio, such as having those revealed in the design sketches, VinFast is definitely eying to become a serious contender in the global automotive competition. This explosion of potential models from VinFast would certainly help it grow exponentially from its current limited product base.
