All New Honda HR-V (Vezel) Unveiled

Honda has finally revealed the all new HR-V, which is marketed as Vezel in its home market. The new model will replace the exsiting HR-V/ Vezel which has been around since 2013 and was long calling for a replacement. Interestingly the HR-V nameplate has been in place since 1998, so the new model will be the 3rd gen for HR-V whereas 2nd gen for Vezel.

In terms of looks the all new HR-V/ Vezel is substantially different from its predecessor. The styling is very much coupe-inspired with a sloping rear hatch. Interestingly there is no signature solid wing face up front. The tall, wide headlights and more vertical nose make the car look wider and more imposing while devoid of any creasing it portrays a very clean and minimalistic look.

Towards the sides Honda has retained the hidden rear door handle whereas the side mirrors are now mounted on the door. The rear end features full width connecting tail lamps, rear windshield wiper, embedded spoiler, shark fin antenna and diffuser element with skid plates. Overall the new HR-V seems to be standing much taller than the out-gone model.

Inside, the minimalist theme continues with simple dashboard design and full-width air vents and looks much like what Honda previewed with the 2022 Civic sedan. The center stack gets dedicated physical controls for climate control in form of three knobs. New features include a panoramic roof with solar-attenuating glass, 9-speaker sound system and rear air-conditioning vents.
