I just checked the price of the new fully loaded Civic RS Turbo with Honda sensing in Philippines. It is priced for 1.69 million Philippine Peso. That is equivalent to 57.6 lacs PKR.

Fun fact, Philippines imports ALL its cars. The Civic RS Turbo is also an import. Yet it is priced lower there then it is here.

We started local assembly to promote tech transfer and “ensure lower prices”. Doesn’t seem to be working…

It seems our government and the local assemblers, instead on concentrating on assembly as a whole, are hell bent on showing their prowess concentrating only on the first three letters of the word ‘assembly’.🤷‍♂️

Al hambdulilah I learn my religion with rightous teachers , i can’t keep it for myself, so i got to share not because i want it, but rather it’s my duty.
But i may write it awkwardly.

Addressing the CVT part, I think it’s because CVTs are cheaper compared to a traditional automatic or manual transmission. They likely did this to keep assembly and import costs as low as possible while increasing the profit margin.

CVT in a turbo vehicle sounds like a nightmare waiting to explode 😨🤦‍♂️

This is really some quality circus material. What in the world were they actually even thinking? Why, would any sane man, even consider a Civic when they could buy any of the existing CUVs in the Market (or a Sonata) and STILL have money left over?! I thought the Sportage over Civic was a good deal, now they’ve turned it into a FANTASTIC deal!!

It’s like they took a look at the Civic meme and went “hey, Civics are considered a status symbol in society, perhaps we should REALLY put it that way and increase the price even more” 🤦‍♂️🤣🤣

Resale is not an issue anymore I think. The way the prices are going up and bookings not available, each car/SUV is doing good and commands a high resale. The sonata will too.

Also, as “Idea #5” pointed out below, the quality of the Civic ‘X’ leaves much to be desired. If the new civic is built anything like that, you can bet the over all quality of the sonata will be better.

For those who buy the civic because it is the “market” choice and the social showoff thing and because they can buy many “kabali” parts and many, many cheap plastic body add-ons that make it look like a Bedford truck wanna-be; Then all the best. You can have no other.

But if you care about buying value for money, comfort and better options. The sonata is the only way to go.

Maybe they should call the new one the Civic ‘Y’. As in Y the heck will I waste my money on this?!🤣🤣
