At least they are awake enough to say the right things. But it all comes down to the right approach. The “5 year plan” obsession that seems to be the ‘go to’ for all our decision makers must be put aside. EVERYTHING THAT NEEDS TO BE DONE DOES NOT HAVE TO TAKE 5 YEARS!!! ALL that has been said must be fast tracked and achieved within the next couple of years. Like the Doctor bhai said “the faster we go”! That would show the international community our interest and resolve in sticking to the narrative and doing all possible to achieve electrification. THAT would turn the heads of the international investors and THAT will make them take notice and invest here. But first, WE HAVE TO SHOW THEM WE MEAN IT!!!
This should not be part of the “2030 agenda”, rather it must be the “do it within the next two or three years” agenda. However, I’m afraid this WILL become part of the “5 year do nothing plans” and forever be stuck in limbo… as usual.

Electric vehicles alone are not the solution, but infrastructure is essential, and manufacturing them locally is the way ahead because Pakistan is rich in silica and other raw minerals, he noted.”

This is what I’m afraid of and somewhat proves my point. We have the basics and the raw material to facilitate the shift to electrification. We have the means; but what have we done with those means so far? This electrification business started with the introduction of the last EV policy 4 years ago. From what I see it took FOUR YEARS to give licenses for EV manufacturing of two and three wheelers. THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN DONE WITHIN THE FIRST YEAR OF THE EV POLICY!!!
If such a pace is maintained going forward, forget about investors or being taken serious; Pakistan will end up as the punch-line in an “EV technology adoption fail” video on YouTube some day. 🤦‍♂️
