Well only time will tell how good a KIA is in Pakistan because Pakistan has bad fuel quality, very reckless traffic, worst road conditions, polluted weather. All these and other factors can affect dependability of cars in long-term and KIA has still to prove it. Thus, unless it does, people, even from elite class, are going to stick with Toyota.

You made a confusion, we never said kia sorento will beat fortuner as a suv, but you told us kia sorento will not sell because it will be expensive, we were talking about price, and we have explained you it will be cheaper compared to fortuner, that’s why it will sell. A lot of pakistani aren’t doing pure off roading so 4×4 isn’t necessary but since they is a lot of place where the road maintenance is poor, even place without road, or slipy places during snow and rain a AWD is wise to have enhance grip, the 3rd genration of serento will not only come affordable but it could fill a gap in Pakistan car market.

But is not Fortuner a proper 4*4, then how come a S.U.V. with A.W.D. can beat it?

Lexus is clearly challenging luxury brand for Mercedes, you right but if we don’t have a lot of lexus it’s only because Lexus is officialy not present in Pakistan. Of course they is aren’t a lot of peoples you can by a lexus or a german brand it’s for whealthy people, and for Kia every technical aspect like suspension will remain the same everywhere in the world where they are selling,te cost are higher for a brand to change such technical details and it’s deteriorate car quality, brand name,so they is no point for kia to put low quality suspension, a worldwide model is a worldwide model, and kia is new in Pakistan, and done a good start they will not risk to do something stupid as this, the only thing that Kia can do is proposing less assist technologies on board, because with any problem in those features it will be expensive for Pakistani, like you told me before pakistani are choosing car with a lot of consideration right ?
That’s the reason why we should get 3rd generation instead of 4th, and why i’am for the 3rd generation of Sorento. And one last thing look a all the fortuner we have in Pakistan, even in Sindh and the starting price of fortuner is 7 700 000 PKR.
Since sorento is a suv of the same age of the actual fortuner (4×4) it’s will be cheaper, and could make a hit like the sportage.

My point was the differentiation factor of a brand. KIA is a mass marketed brand and cannot offer that much comfort since otherwise they would lose out on profit margin, it is fact that they cannot afford to put a sophisticated suspension in such cars and therefore cannot offer a unique comfort. Another thing, Toyota too has a Lexus brand and it is a luxury car, but we do not see them very much in Pakistan, do we? They are there but compared to a Mercedes or B.M.W. they are not plying on roads in compatible numbers. The reason for one car being known for certain qualities is not ignorance, it is perception and in business world it is a fact that makes doing a business competitively so its presence in Pakistan is not specific rather a general view that is found all over the world.
Anyways, the brand image that we Pakistanis hold about a certain car is important and KIA in Pakistan does not yet have the league to attract brand conscious people of elite class. For evidence, check out the registration number on KIA Carnival and even Sportage, running in Sind of course, this will give you an idea about people having money to buy it but still rather choosing Corolla Grande or other cars that to us represent power or status. Lastly, forgive me but a 7million car is not a vehicle for people of middle class, it is for affluent people.

Again Kia target is middle-class, Kia is making affordable mid-range vehicles, despite Kia making some high end vehicles (stinger, K900 …),Kia is not a Mercedes but they are making comfortable car, in the beginning Kia is making cars for americans market espacially that’s why almost all of them cars are confortable.
Kia is Hyundai brand, and Hyundai got a luxury brand Genesis. BMW is not comfort oriented but dynamic oriented, sheer plesure drive is BMW catchword.
I already told you a lot of pakistani doesn’t know a lot about cars, not everyone but a lot.
Pakistani car market is emerging, Yunus bothers had good strategies so far.
3rd generation sorento available in Pakistan is better than te 4th.

I doubt that these people will be going for Sorento on comfort bases since KIA is not a Mercedes and therefore it has nothing so special under its belt to offer, it is just another mass market car with gimmicks to support rather than reality-based customer user experience. In contrast Fortuner or a second hand Prado have recognised legacy and durability to earn attention from our elite class people. The other day I even saw a professional women revving a petrol version Toyota Fortuner like a youth would while trying to race his fellows. A petrol version Fortuner! the reason is elite class also sets store by brand’s recognisability by their peers.
