Why do these local guys always tell this lie? You are assemblers! you policy is:
Parts Import karao
Nut Bolt tight karo aur paint karao
Aur jub dil chahi queemat barhao
The only reason for not introducing this small car is the ever present Oligopoly among the original three.
The auto industry in Pakistan is NOT doing well. These guys always give these statistics showing “improvement”. But that is misleading. Case in point, Honda. The situation is so bad that Honda has to give combined sales figures for its two “best” sellers to give any meaning to its sales figures. The over all sales of the car industry go up by only hundreds compared to (during) the Covid-19 lockdown and they claim victory and say that their sales improved by leaps and bounds with 100% or 200% sales improvement. That is stacking the figures. That is misleading. That is false advertising.
Look at other countries such as Malaysia, Turkey, Thailand etc. There, car sales have been setting record highs because of smart government policies and very good substantial deals and discounts by the auto companies themselves to attract more customers. Here they just keep on increasing prices even when the dollar is stable/recovering and no new taxes have been added.
I hope you don’t mind me saying this, but they are literally celebrating farts in the wind.
However, please continue like this. Only focus on the more “profitable” products. One day soon you will price your selves out of existence and that day, we will be finally free of you. Finally get this industry on its feet.
