What about the localization philosophy then which has been in place for 30+ years?

Well govt can reduce tax to offer some relief to the public.

Here is a crazy idea… LOWER THE TAXES!
Look at what Malaysia did last year. It stopped taking sales tax on CKD cars and up to 50% reduction in tax on CBU units. The car industry actually prospered there. Proton set sales records.
Simply putting their hands up and saying “well, that is it! Can’t do anything about this”; that approach is lazy and ignorant.
The world is change. Learn to roll with the punches. Learn to adapt. Learn to do something instead of just warming a chair.
Awam is always expected to “tighten it’s belts”. Well, it’s time to take one for the team and show that our government is willing to do the same for the sake of the people (and the economy).

Here is another crazy idea for the auto companies… LOWER YOUR PROFITS! Take a hit. It is ok. The customers (people like us) will see that the companies put the customer first. That is good will. It will have a positive impact on sales. You will not be reducing prices, just your profits for the time being. When the fright charges come down, you profits will go back up.

Seems like a plan, right?
