There are however a lot of factors in pakistan that need to be taken care of not just by manufacturers but by govt too. Gov is not doing its job on all fronts. Our industry is not improving due to poor inputs from gov.
Pakistan has a no issues to resolve before we can establish good local producers.
1. Inconsistent policies as described above. There is no long term thought process behind any policy pak gov introduces. Policies change overnight.
2. High energy prices. Electricity nd gas tariffs are so high it almost makes very little sense for industry to grow here. They r just not able to produce here in pakistan competitively due to high tariffs.
3. The market itself is too small and no policy has been devised for exports in auto sector without which companies r unable to achieve economies of scale.
4. Unskilled labour : The labour in pakistan unfortunately not appropriately skilled to produce large volumes with good quality controls. There is a serious gap in trainings and job requirements.

All in all, pakistan is a buffet of problems for volume production.

I hope our Ultra Pro Max competent government doesn’t actually listen to them on this

Hoping is the first step. The second step is taking action by making your ideas heard. Government has enabled channels thru which you can send your voice to them. Read how: https://carspiritpk.com/auto-industry-laments-imposition-of-new-taxes/#comment-8642

The main reason is that Pakistan is still very much a feudal mindset enslaving concept society. The same feudals have become industrialists and instead of learning good concepts from industrialization and implementing it into agriculture, they are inverse-progressing by bringing in suffocative feudal system into industry.

Responding to this part of your comment:

the only reason why they’re doing this is because they want to make things even more easier for themselves

They’re doing this because they are ruthless egotists who love totalitarian power being the exploitative mindset they are.

QUOTE: There are minivans microvans, small hatchbacks and sedans which most newcomers are unwilling to introduce.

Minivan is considered a luxury category in Pakistan which has crore rupees Kia Grand Carnival and Hyundai Grand Starex with large V6 engines. The word “Grand” gives away its market positioning.
Use JDMs like Toyota Lucida and Estima are nowhere to be seen now.

But the microvans sector is in high demand with Suzuki Bolan and new entrants FAW XP-V, Changan Karvaan and DFSK K07, C37 who offer low quality product at high prices and poor customer service behaviour that is why customer are gobbling up used orphaned JDM Suzuki Every and Daihatsu HiJet.

Engineering, Syed Muhammad Ishtiaq for comment.
What is this S. M. Engineering by the way? What do they produce? Do they have any company website or contact number?
It will be much better if you have to write his response, or even if there was “no response”.

Mostly this type of car buyer is very cautious with maintenance costs and for an imported vehicles these are almost triple that is why cars like Cultus, Alto, Wagon R, Bolan and Ravi despite being very expensive still rule over the kei vehicles world.

Look from 70,000 in 2019 to just 27,000 in 2021 and still they are not satisfied
