In my view taking loans is equal to a begging but the method is sophisticated, what if a person dies? Who would pay off the debt then? So my question why on earth Mr. Qamar should jump from Cultus to Sportage? These cars are two-steps apart from each other why such a lust for the worldly possessions? Why not take one step at a time and consider cars like Toyota Yaris, Honda City, Toyota Corolla, which are available in under PKR 4million. In plain words, all these instances show that people are wanting to have just more and more rather than remaining within their financial circle. That is so unpatriotic, instead of feeling shame that thanks to their unsustainable lifestyles Pakistan is about default they are being self-centered and lamenting that they either cannot skip two steps on the ladder toward top or can’t buy two vehicles simultaneously. I hope that the government increases the interest rates even more, it is very important that our people learn to live without relying on external sources of financing.
Another fact that the article is discussing is who is buying new cars, well, there are ultra rich people even now and they still have the capacity to keep on buying new vehicles. Their monthly incomes are Alhamdulillah crossing well above PKR 5 to even 25millions and they can Alhamdulillah afford to own the new Civic, Corolla, Swift, Sportage, Revo and Fortuner, without need for financing them, that is why these vehicles continue to sail on the roads in very high numbers. As for the own matter, well car buyers are to blame, they can not wait and prefer immediate deliveries and so are being treated exactly the way an impatient man must be treated so it is their fault that they are fueling the fire that has now reached the roof.

“Tradition”! Look at his spontaneous choice of words.
Someone finally said it. Starving the whole society of the basic need of mobility is a “tradition”. Lovely rasm-o-rivaaj.

Exploitation is a tradition then. Businessmen in Pakistan traditionally want to earn on shortage instead of earning on volume.

Wait, did this guy just admit to the fact that the supply problem in Pakistan which has promoted the premium and own culture is all artificial? 🤔

“old tradition of high demand and low supply”. That makes it seems like its artificially put in place to continue these exploitative market practices. No wonder the auto assemblers, especially the desi jap three, are never assembling to their full assembly capacity.
