Of the Chinese people I know, most of the daily commuters have already switched to EVs such as Zeekr, Polestar, XPeng and Ora Good Cat. The transition was natural for them because they were used to driving electric scooters in student life or in early career stages. Now that they have money, maintaining an ICE engined vehicle is too complex for them – from electric scooter to electric 4-wheeler is more logical.

Apparently the BYDs are more popular with the government-owned taxi companies and bus companies.

One or 2 people who are long-distance commuters are still hugging their old BMW 7 and Merc E-class and cannot think of switching to EV because of range and charging times.
