Master Changan Motors has increased the prices of newly introduced Alsvin sedan by up to Rs 101,000 with effect from 12th March 2021.

The price of Alsvin 1.5L DCT variant has been revised by Rs 50,000 whereas the flagship Lumiere edition has seen an increase of Rs 101,000. There is no change in price for the base 1.3L MT variant. The revised prices are:

According to a company official, the price increase is due to the persistent high freight cost after the pandemic. Interestingly however there is no forex impact on the price of the base variant.
Upon launch, the Changan Alsvin created a stir in the market due to its attractive looks and impressive quality & features on offer against a much lower price than the competition. However, it will be interesting to see the public response after this increase in price.
