Changan Join Hands With Huawei

Changan and Huawei have signed a strategic cooperation agreement to push forward new energy and intelligent mobility. The agreement was signed at Huawei headquarter in Shenzhen, China in presence of the Changan Automobile President Mr. Zhu Huarong, Executive Vice President Mr. Liu Bo, Huawei rotating Chairman Mr. Xu Zhijun, Huawei Cloud BU President Mr. Zheng Yelai and other top management from both sides.

According to the agreement, both sides will establish innovation center and enhance the development of automobile intelligence in order to create a mobile space for customers that integrates human, car and life together under new 5G era.

In terms of inter-connectivity, Changan has been working continuously in perfecting its inCall system in order to provide intelligent driving experience. In terms of intelligent driving, Changan has already completed the first 2000km autonomous driving in China, and launched a series of products such as the CS55 and new CS75 which are equipped with latest intelligent functions.

Last year Changan also got Autonomous Vehicle Testing Permit from California DMV. The company plans to mass produce Level 3 autonomous car technologies by 2020. In line with the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s policy framework for automated driving systems, a Level 3 vehicle will drive itself, but “the driver always must be receptive to a request by the system to take back driving responsibilities.”

To further take it to a higher level, Changan is going to launch a new intelligent strategy later this year, which will invest 20 billion RMB (3.3 billion USD) in the field of intelligent technology in the next 10 years as well as form a dedicated professional team consisting of more than 2000 personnel. Changan is showing its determination in leading intelligent automobile technologies.

In addition to Huawei, Changan have created cooperative tie-ups with companies including Baidu Inc., Tencent Holdings Ltd., Alibaba Group Holding Ltd., NIO and Intel Corporation.
