Recently I got an idea how far the Chinese brands are coming with latest tech, road safety, vehicle safety, passenger convenience, driver fatigue and customer service.

  1. Somebody who visited the Canton Fair last month had this to say: nearly 100% of the cars on China’s roads are EV. Literally every taxi they sat in was an EV. All the cars around them on the streets were EVs.
  2. 360° cameras: all the cars on the streets had 360-degree bird’s view cameras. This marks a major milestone in road safety as now there are no blind spots at all.

Meanwhile the US bloggers are still tooting the horn of compulsory reverse-camera regulation of 2018. O-hello Americans, China has all 360° cameras without any regulation. The general propaganda accuses China of being communist while it is market competition (=the invisible hand of market supply-and-demand forces as in capitalism) in China that has made it possible.

The most ubiquitous car in Gulf countries is the MG5. They are giving so many features in just 50,000 rial that companies are becoming fleet customers quickly. But even then, the battery density of Chery's solid state battery will be 280Wh/KG. That is the same as the energy density of Tesla's top 4680 batteries. According the to roadmap shared by Chery, they expect to reach over 500Wh/KG within the next 3 to 4 years with subsequent second and third generations of their batteries.
