This article also proves that regardless of certain commentators calling Fuel cell a futile attempt by Toyota, they actually are wrong and low on far sight and judging from perseverance on the area by corrupt Chinese the Chinese seem to think so to. Good old Toyota
As regard to technology innovation, what innovation is the minister talking about? Education sourced from the US and European universities, technology stolen from Silicon valley, Innovation that retired German engineers have been supplying or technology that the Chinese were able to get through formation of joint ventures and then re-work on it through cheap labour? It is not exactly a secret that when it comes to adopting underhand tactics, Chinese top the list. They have been forcing poor Uyghurs to work for them, in fact poor Uyghurs have had their religion converted and they have also stolen technology from the US, case in point Apple VS Huawei. I think that with such strategies being adopted, it is not difficult to say that the Chinese have very little role in evolving the global auto industry.

P.S. Another thing, while the Chinese might wear a stolen green garb over them but they still remain the most polluting country on this earth, most of their national energy is coming from burning of coal or black gold.
P.P.S. Coal is being sourced from Pakistan after destroying its natural landscape, any environmentalist can see the face of Tharparkar now and easily comprehend another doom hanging onto Pakistan.

Go where the wind is blowing so to speak. We are hell bent on the idea of “localization” of the ICE cars. That ship has sailed. The japs have made sure that we did not achieve anything in that particular endeavor.

Right now Pakistan must seriously concentrate on THREE thing ONLY!

ONE – GET RID OF THE SINGLE ASSEMBLER LED PAMA. The whole concept behind that institute is false. They behave more like a mafia/cartel. Those local assemblers who don’t join this will not even have their sales figures registered. How wrong is that on so many levels?!

TWO – The government must sit down with the local parts vendors ON THEIR OWN! Find out what they require. Figure out what incentives they can be provided with. The only goal in sight, get them to join the international parts supplier chains. That will be a BIG international revenue earner for the country

THREE – Get the EV policies and EV incentives plans from China. Work on them. Work with local companies wanting to start local Pakistan made EVs and EV brands. Help us start our own brands. Don’t complicate matters for startups in Pakistan. Make things simple so that they can thrive. This is our chance. This is our moment to shine if allowed. We can get in on the ground floor in the EV race and make a name for Pakistan. Its easy to do. We have the talent no doubt. Just need the right leaders who are not ignorant regarding the vehicle industry and are not repeating the PAMA rhetoric verbatim with out any understanding or care as long as their agendas are met. We must get China’s EV policies and help Pakistan grow in the field. Our futures depend on it! 👍
