11,252 units of Yaris were sold in first 5 months of this fiscal year compared to 11,405 units in the same period of last year, means -1.34% decline in sales.
OTOH 12,723 units of Corolla were sold during this period compared to just 6,632 units last year, means 91.84% surge in sales

now thats a myth and has nothing to do with reality. for eg: suzuki stopped making better generation of Bolan after 1979, Corolla’s TNGA platform is aimed for rich people so the old gens are more pocket friendly to “poor middle class” buyers. second gen alto was good for 30 years because every generation that came afterwards was trash, but now Suzuki learnt and come up with 8th gen which is good

Q: Why do they even care if it is a 1st generation or 11th generation Corolla? Why not just buy a ’72 Corolla instead of 2022 Corolla?

I am not surprised at the success of the Corolla, it is decent looking than Civic or Elantra, more durable than the two and is also comparatively cheaper to buy initially and then keep it running. On top of that despite its age, it is clicking on all the boxes that a Toyota buyer wants their Corolla cars to posses, so why would buyers even care if it is a12th or 11th generation, I mean to them Corolla is a Corolla and until it remains offering the values the name commands among its buyers, it would keep on selling in the market.
P.S. In my view, the recent price hike has lured buyers away from Toyota Yaris, if the trend continues, maybe I.M.C. might reconsider lowering it.
P.P.S. I just love the image of the Corolla standing in its shiny state, may Allah bring through it happiness to the owner.
