because pakistani parts makers are just puppets to their masters. they say what they are asked to say. your input is a golden piece of advice and someone with a fraction of knowledge should know what to do it this situation, they keep blaming used car imports, why not simply try to make parts for vitz, mira etc? whos stopping them?

If new cars aren’t selling, then what’s happening is that older cars are spending more time on the road covering more miles. The same spare parts will survive far longer in a new car compared to an old car. Why? Because older cars have lots of play and backlash among parts, the chassis becomes weaker and has more flex, resulting in more friction, more heat and more degradation of parts.
I’ll give you a simple example: A new engine runs flawlessly, it won’t require a foundation change for over 100,000 kilometers. Generally in Karachi it takes more than 5 years to complete 100k.
But an old engine sputters, dies and misfires. Occasionally the battery is down or the starter refuses to engage, prompting a push-start. All this means that engine foundations break very frequently.

The conclusion of all this is that older cars are a boon for spare parts manufacturers. New cars don’t need spare parts for a long long time – except those that were fitted to them at the factory at the time of birth.

Pakistani businessmen are bad at business. If noone is buying newer cars then why not concentrate to sell spare parts to older cars? Most models on the market are 5+ years old. The same spares they sell to automotive assembly plants can be sold in the market.

Completely ignoring the export market. No issue. Not a problem. Not to blame.
No effort on localization of parts. No issue. Not a problem. Not to blame.

Used car Imports. Right! That is the culprit! It is to blame for their decades of failure on the points mentioned above! Imports are the devil!
Even though the local car assemblers are importers themselves, that is OK! It’s the used car imports that are to blame.
Even though the local assemblers cannot and will not make small cars for majority of the people, the used import of even those small cars is poison for these local useless companies. 🤔 🤯 🤷‍♂️ 🤦‍♂️ 😕 😕 😕

Talk about Hierocracy.
