thanks for letting us know, as always to these “sacred holy cows”, every true patriot Pakistani is an Indian agent. They think they are the only ones eligible for “Patriotic Pakistani” title but in reality, they have damaged the motherland more than anyone else could. sigh

FYI PakPatriot JF17 and Maj (R) Asif both comments were made from the same IP address 🙂

these “experts” hijacked every govt & civilian institution, they derailed democracy and engineered their so-called pawns into existence, faking people to believe we have a democracy & civilian govt. they have ruined the entire govt machinery, spoiled law & order, intervene justice system, rig elections, raped the economy, thrown the country in numerous useless wars, and now blaming their own puppets for the failure

After 75 years of their “expert” direct and indirect rule where are we?

The news doesn’t really do justice. What is the educational qualification of Mr Aizaz?

Pakistan’s engineering courses are well accredited with Washington Accord and IPEA.

Pakistani engineers having engineering degree from Pakistan or abroad do well abroad in employment and entrepreneurship. Pakistani PhDs mostly having studied from abroad, do well enough as CTO or managers in Silicon Valley.

One of the Pakistani software engineers I know recently got 2 simultaneous job offers from 2 major European automobile brands for their FSD (full self-driving) tech.
Many good mechanical, electrical, electronics and automotive engineers of Pakistani origin having their basic engineering qualification from Pakistan and higher qualifications from Pakistan/abroad are doing perfectly well in automobile companies in the US.

Mr Aizaz is suffering from the lack of introspection. He or his PAAPAM or the whole automobile industry of Pakistan is not up to the mark to be able to extract benefit from supreme talent. To make those dummy silencers radiators and dashboard, door card and exportable carpet, he doesn’t need engineers, masters, doctors or postdocs. He just needs skilled labor. After seeing his thinking, it is predictable that he will be complaining about labor’s incompetence next. Typical victim mindset where others are the reasons of his failure.

When Mr Aizaz is able to offer opportunities and budget allocation for bleeding edge innovation in emerging technologies such as EV tech, crash safety, innovative engine or gearbox design, new materials research, only then he needs engineers or PhDs.

Why use a spade to eat custard?
The auto industry is in infancy after 30+ years of coddling and pampering.
Infant needs infant formula, can’t take protein supplements until it is an adult.

Mr Aizaz just showed his resentment. “Experts” who can’t see things objectively are accusing real experts of incompetence. Is it even possible to make progress with a negative attitude?

These people seem to be showing some sense. this is what we have been saying for so long! Agreed on almost all points. however there are some clarifications/modifications required.

“…allowing imports of raw materials at zero duty and doing away with regulatory duties on all raw materials would ensure the availability of all necessary raw materials at regionally competitive prices, similar to India, China, and Turkey”

“Export focus should be on automotive parts and not passenger cars in a finished form because exporting cars is not feasible with the import duty structure of raw materials and components.”

Agreed. However, as I have said before, there need to be some clarity on raw materials as well.

Taxes on raw materials should be lowered. However, any raw material that is produced locally and is locally available, there needs to be an increase of taxes on the import of such raw materials. That way companies who are using these raw materials will opt to buy them from the local companies there by increasing the earnings of these local businesses and supporting the local businesses.

Any raw material that is NOT produced locally and has to be imported, the taxes on such raw materials must be reduced so that these parts manufacturers can get them at affordable/competitive rates and us them to make products that will be /can be sold as exports thus bring in much needed foreign revenue to the nation.

 Ban used car imports.” 🤦‍♂️
