The irony is not lost on us that this latest serious dive into EV technology started in the US with Tesla. But because Toyota ignored them and sold their stock in Tesla, everyone including the oil companies and the legacy car companies thought that would be the end of the EV race. Just as they made sure it ended in the 90's with GM's EV1. Long story short the GM EV1 was the first very successful attempt at a viable everyday EV. It nearly succeeded until suddenly decisions were forcefully made that killed the project. The people who participated in it loved the EV and lobbied against the forced closure of the project. Yet due to the power of the oil and ICE lobbies it was killed and buried; much like Toyota did with its EV Rav4. (See: "Who killed the Electric Car"). They thought with Toyota's exist from Tesla stock and looking down on the technology it will be the end of EVs all over again. But this time they seriously miscalculated. And the wildcard in the mix was, and still, is China; and here we are. They are doing and saying all sorts of propaganda to save their hides/businesses. Its just sad really. And since they cannot match the production capacity and the low production costs of China (be it EVs, Solar and/or Batteries), they have to invent all these "issues" to slow down China's now obvious take over. Like the old saying goes "You snooze, you lose!". 🤷‍♂️]]> An eye opening piece.

Now I know where a certain someone, who used to frequent these comments sections, learned his way of conspiratorial arguments and statements. 🤣
