FAW Launches the 2018 Besturn X80 SUV in China

Having recently launched the Senia R9 SUV and the Jumpal CX65 Wagon in China, FAW has launched an updated version of their most successful Besturn X80 SUV in the land of dragons.

Although the exterior looks largely similar to the 2016 facelift, the revisions in the 2018 Besturn X80 includes a number of configuration & equipment upgrades.

The interior now comes equipped with a massive 12″ touchscreen integrated with FAW’s D-Life 2.0 intelligent system. The D-Life enable the users to remotely start the engine, control the a/c & its temperature, and turn on the seat heating function using a Smartphone App. In addition, the new voice control features can also turn on air conditioning, satellite navigation and more.

Additionally, the D-Life 2.0 system also supports vehicles-diagnostic system, which can ensure timely detection of vehicle problems. Vehicles diagnostic system tells the users which part of the vehicle has a problem. In an event of vehicle failure, the user can call customer service through the app as well.

D-Life 2.0 also helps users to locate the vehicle. When the user sends a car-seeking command via the mobile phone, the vehicle would offer visual and audible signals through a horn and three flashes of turn signals to let the user know where the vehicle is. Users can also check the doors, lights, trunk, as well as sunroof, and can remotely shut them down through the app.

Other improvements offered in the 2018 FAW Besturn X80 are panoramic sunroof, built-in dash cam, power tailgate and welcome lights.

The new X80 will continue to be powered by either a 2.0 liter naturally aspirated engine with maximum power of 147 hp and peak torque of 184 Nm, or a 1.8 liter turbocharged engine with maximum power of 186 hp and peak torque of 235 Nm. The transmission options are 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic sending power to the front wheels.

The Besturn X80 is priced from 85,800 yuan (PKR 15.49 lac) to up to 138,800 yuan (PKR 25.06 lac) for the fully loaded version.

Al-Haj FAW in Pakistan is in process of launching the R7 crossover SUV in Pakistan, we will have to wait to see whether the likes of the new Besturn X80 with the same level of equipment are introduced in Pakistan.
