The minivan market in Pakistan has long being dominated by Suzuki Bolan, the vehicle that the Japanese engineers developed back in 1979 and has completed 40 years of its life already.
Not many people know that the original Japanese Suzuki Carry in 1979 used to be better equipped that the PKR 8.54 lac Bolan sold by Pak Suzuki in this day and age. The original Carry Hi-roof came with better seats, better upholstery, beige interior, floor carpeting, chrome door handles, chrome linings, key lock at passenger side door, fan/ heater, radio cassette player with telescopic whip antenna, back wiper and rear windshield defrosters etc, all of which have been stripped off the local assembled Bolan.
Although in recent times, newcomers have focused on introducing pickups and minivans in the market, thanks to the Auto Policy 2016-21. However most of these options are yet to come out of the showroom floors. Furthermore there is a huge question mark on the presence of nationwide dealerships as well as the availability of spares.
