First Peugeot 2008 Reaches Pakistan

Now it seems that Lucky Motors is really quite serious in tightening its grip on the local market as the first Peugeot 2008 crossover SUV has arrived in Pakistan. The imported unit bearing chassis number VR3USHNLGLJ648952 will be used for trials & tests and will likely open doors for the introduction of Peugeot cars in our country.

The Peugeot 2008 is a B-segment subcompact crossover SUV and is currently in its second generation that debuted in June 2019. Built on company’s new lightweight Common Modular Platform (CMP) the 2008 is powered by 1.2 liter turbocharged 3-cylinder engine and comes paired to either 6-speed manual or 8-speed automatic transmission.

As reported previously, Lucky Motors was considering to launch another compact SUV before June 2021 which will be slotted below Sportage and will entice Yaris & City customers into buying SUVs. And with the arrival of Peugeot 2008, one can now connect the dots quite easily.

Smaller in dimensions than the Sportage with a smaller displacement turbocharged engine under its hood, the Peugeot 2008 will be Lucky Motors’ answer to the subcompact sedans in the market. It looks as if the company is confident enough to win the race with introducing competitively priced crossover SUVs instead of conventional sedans in the segment.
