Yes, he’s actually correct in some way. The authorities will in fact, do something. That “something” being sleeping and collecting dollars from under the table like they always have!
Since we are “beggars” and “beggars can’t be choosers”, we don’t have the luxurious priority to “choose” even a semi decent auto industry for ourselves! We should be thankful of the scraps these companies are throwing at us at such affordable prices and never complain! 🙃

This is their best time for earning hefty profit. Government favours them while ensuring zero competition from imporated cars and then tax relief. Above all the freedom they are enjoying to increase the prices whenever and whatever they want while threatening government by stating it’s free market stuff. Then launching the products only which have huge profits margins as article indicated. Suzuki’s profit after selling most number of cars by a company here is far less than Toyota which sold may be less than half number of cars than Suzuki.
So consequently elites were provided with numerous options to choose from while middle or lower class were deprived of car facility thus creating a distinction among society.
Good article, hope authorities will benefit from it if they are sincerely want to do something.
