Moreover, once again the Hino and Toyota are admitting their mistakes, which is more than what one can say about B.Y.D. Apart from reports appearing about nosebleed in children, the company is not even responding to customers who are asking about dealers changing batteries during normal service.

Be it simple ICE or hybrid or even a range extender EV (an EV with an ICE engine used to charge the batteries only). Any vehicle with a fossil fuel engine (petrol/diesel, Hybrid/Non-Hybrid or Range extender EV) has to go through very strict emissions regulation in each country where it is intended to be sold. For example, the same model of such a vehicle that is sold in japan, US, Canada or Europe etc. will have to pass the emissions regulation tests in those individual countries. The costs of such tests are very high. Companies pay millions to certify just a single model. That further adds to the costs of bringing new ICE models to any region. This is NOT including the NCAP testing each model has to go in each region or country as well; further adding to the costs.

EVs on the other hand have no such emissions tests to pass. (NCAP tests are there for ALL so that is the only major regulation costs to consider.)

Companies do these shenanigans sometimes just to avoid these costs. The issue arises when they get caught.

“You dug your own grave, now lie in it.”

How far will this guy bow down for this? Maybe he will bow so much that his head will come out on the other side of the planet… 😱
