Honda Amaze Surpasses 500,000 Units Sales Milestone in India

The Honda Amaze sedan which was introduced in Indian market in 2013 and is currently in its 2nd generation, has crossed the 500,000 units cumulative sales milestone in India.

Amaze holds a strong position in India’s entry-level sedan segment and enjoys a preferred brand status among buyers. It is currently the largest selling model for Honda India accounting for more than 40% of company sales. Manufactured at Honda’s Tapukara plant in Rajasthan, the Amaze is also exported to different countries from India.

The Amaze in India comes powered by 1.2L i-VTEC petrol engine (the same that’s deployed with the 6th gen City in Pakistan) as well as a 1.5L i-DTEC diesel engine, available in both manual and CVT gearbox options. Fuel economy for petrol versions is rated at 18.6 km per liter whereas diesel is capable to return up to 24.7 km in a liter.

Standard safety equipment in Honda Amaze includes dual SRS airbags, anti-lock brake system (ABS) with Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD), ISOFIX seats, engine immobilizer, rear multi-view camera with guidelines, automatic headlight control with light sensor, driver side window one-touch up/down with pinch guard, rear parking sensor, impact mitigating front headrests and pedestrian injury mitigation technology. Inside there is a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto & Apple CarPlay connectivity as well as a multi-view rear camera.
