Honda Gienia Launched in China

The Honda Gienia which was officially unveiled at the Chengdu Motor Show 2016 has been officially launched in China. It first appeared as a Honda Concept B at Beijing Auto Show 2014.

Powered by a 1.5-litre petrol engine producing 131 hp and 155 Nm of torque the Gienia is coupled with either a 5-speed manual or CVT transmission. Price starts from 80,900 yuan (PKR 13.84 lac) up to 127,900 yuan (PKR 19.69 lac).

The Honda Gienia measures 4,517 mm in length, 1,705 mm in width and 1,477 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,600 mm. Compared to the Greiz, the Gienia is 22 mm shorter in length, but has the same wheelbase.

The Gienia is actually a hatchback version of the Honda Greiz sedan which is a China-only iteration of the Honda City, being made by Dongfeng Motor Corporation (DMC). Honda also has a joint venture with another car manufacturer in China, Guangzhou Auto Corporation (GAC) with which it produces the actual Honda City, which is available globally.
