It is always the clutches and electronics that go out first so always choose manual if you want durability – the clutch is external to it, easily replaceable and lives long if driven normally.

Heat is the main reason for most engine failures in Pakistan also.

But transmission coolers etc. type of modifications aren’t even available here.

Changing gear of automatic transmission isn’t easy or even possible many times, since half the oil is collected in the pump and torque converter. So if your gearbox has a total of 8 liters of oil, opening the drain nut will only yield 4 liters of oil. If you replenish 4 liters of oil then, you have changed only 50% of the oil and half remains old, so the contamination is only diluted, not removed. In fact some people drain half the oil and then try to stuff full quantity in there when half is remaining. This kind of overfilling is poison for the gearbox! In Pakistan there is practically nobody who can properly completely replace the oil of an auto box! Even the stealerships don’t know how.

∴ manual is best.
