The Local Corolla is the 11th gen. This model was launched in Japan in 2012. The international model of the 11th gen was launched globally in 2013. This was, subsequently, launched in Pakistan in 2014. If we look at it from the original Japanese launch date for the 11th gen, that makes the local corolla 11 years old. If we calculate it from the launch of the international model, that makes the local corolla 10 years old. Either way it is an old car, continually revived with copious amounts of slapped on plastic bits.

The Elanra is the 6th gen which was launched in 2015. The one we have here locally is the very extensively facelifted version which was launched in 2019.
Which ever dates you compare, the Elantra is a much newer car when compared to the Corolla.

If we compare the prices, The cheapest Elantra 1.6 GL is over 1 lac cheaper than the 1.6 Corolla CVT. On top of all that, the Elantra 1.6 GL is far better equipped. Even at the top end, the Elantra GLS is the better option; with better options. 😉

When compared to the very overpriced latest gen Honda Civic, the Elantra seems to make a strong case for itself, again, with better prices and options.

As far as looks are concerned, the Elantra has its own distinct look that is neither too old like the corolla nor is it an Audi wanna-be like the civic.

Hands down, the Elentra seems the best deal on the market right now.
