That it is because the sonata is a bad car etc. Etc. But there are other things to factor in here. Yes the sales of the sonata are not good. It has looks that are polarizing. You either like it or you don’t. Tech wise it is up there with the best in the segment. But the thing is, in many countries like the US etc. It’s either SUVs gaining ground very quickly or EVs. Hyundai saw this and is doing the right thing. It is not just finishing it off. It it shifting the production lines over to electrification, to the production of EVs. That is the market demand and they are meeting it. It is very possible that the next iteration of the sonata will be an EV or some sedan based on the sonata platform.

They are just adapting. Rather than just screaming ICE or Hybrids and refusing to see the writing on the wall. They are going towards the new rather than sticking stubbornly to the old.
