Hyundai has introduced a new base variant of Verna sedan in India priced from INR 9.03 lac (equivalent to PKR 19.8 lac).
Dubbed as Verna E, the new base variant gets only a 1.5 liter petrol engine under its hood that produces 113hp of power and 144Nm of torque with power sent to the front wheels via 5-speed manual transmission. The ARAI certified fuel economy figures are 17.7km per liter.
The Verna E is almost INR 35,000 (PKR 77,000) cheaper than the S variant, which was previously the entry-level variant in Hyundai Verna’s range. In terms of features the E variant is almost similar to the Verna S but misses out on the 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, front and rear speakers, sunglass holder, front USB charger, and the shark fin antenna.
Safety equipment with the base variant includes driver & front passenger airbags, seatbelt reminders, child seat anchorage, ABS with EBD, engine immobilizer, central locking with remote boot lid opener, anti-glare rear view mirror, rear parking sensors, headlight & ignition reminder system and speed sensing door locks.
Features include air-conditioning with rear AC vents, 6-way adjustable driver & front passenger seats, 2-way adjustable rear passenger seats, rear armrest with cup holders, cooled glove box, power steering/ windows/ side mirrors, headlight height adjuster & instrument cluster with multi-information display to name a few.
The Hyundai Verna range in India is backed by 3 years/ unlimited kilometers warranty and competes against the likes of Honda City, Suzuki Ciaz, Skoda Rapid and Toyota Yaris in the Indian market.
