Moving on, Jamali went on to discuss climate change, noting that Pakistan is among the countries most affected by it and that it requires strategic action on all fronts to address these issues. According to the Global Carbon Budget 2022, the country’s annual CO2 emissions were 229.51 million tonnes in 2021, up 9% from 210.38 million tonnes in 2020.

and who is responsible for all this? you are still slapping euro2 sticker on a Rs 7.9 million car & still not complying with euro5, why?

This contradictory illogic needs to end.

If the demand is low why do they need to open L/Cs?

Surely these people have priced themselves out of the market and now cannot move inventory that is why they are shutting down their plants. L/Cs are just a bahana to gain public sympathy. In fact they themselves are the reason why the issue of L/C arised. They have been overcharging and overpricing in Pakistan, sending too many profits abroad, now Pakistan has been leeched dry** by “the supremely honest Japanese businessmen” coming from the “most well-developed, non-confrontational and friendly country Japan”). Classic case of slaughtering the chicken laying the golden egg.

And this is a Plugin hybrid because you can charge the battery at home through its charge port. It has a LFP battery. Jamali Kuch to shram kar lo... 🤦‍♂️]]> Awesome Piece CSPK as always! Agreed on all points!
No wonder Jamali is the favorite of a certain person who used to comment in this comment section. They both argue the same way; lie in the face of widely available data which proves that, what they are saying, is complete BS!

The Corolla cross is not the best choice; agreed. I think it was brought just to bank on the name Corolla. Other options are much better i.e. the Yaris hybrid or the Aqua Hybrid. Also, if they spend all this money to localize the assembly of the Corolla cross, why not spend that amount on bringing the 12th gen Corolla and its hybrid models to Pakistan instead? that would have been a better option.

Jamali never misses an opportunity to take full advantage of the ignorance of the people, even in the media industry unfortunately, when he goes after the used imports like that. It almost seems like Jamali knows that the imports are a much better deal for the nation and the economy as they cost the nation less. He has to repeat this lie each time to make sure he sows the seeds of doubt to keep his business valid.

What he says about the 30,000 HEV local assembly saving $37,000,000 annually. That means that per car local assembly will save around $1,233.33. OK… what about the rest of the hundreds of millions sent out of Pakistan to buy his over priced imported parts?

He can lie and cheat so blatantly because he knows, he can get away with it; due to the lack of knowledge amongst the people regarding what is going on in the industry or he can easily “change minds” or he knows he has enough power to keep the few voices quite or a combination of all of the above. This leads to the people and the nation ultimately loosing just so these foreign companies can have their profits.

He makes it sound like Indus is still the first to introduce locally assembled hybrids. NO! that is not the case. Haval beat them fair and square. Also:

This the first Hybrid or plug-in Hybrid bike in Pakistan. 🤯 Hybrids are so old that even small 70cc hybrids bikes are available in Pakistan. And this is a Plugin hybrid because you can charge the battery at home through its charge port. It has a LFP battery.

Now they pretty much operating on skeleton workforce and can’t find anybody to spare.
He says they haven’t fired anybody but there is a big loophole in his commentary. They didn’t lose their jobs but are they getting full & on-time salary? Sending people on long-leave (furlough) is a favorite passtime of Pakistani companies so we can assume that de facto here.

All in all these days companies are finding it cheaper to keep people on retainer. It is a kind of lollipop because now there are many car-assembling companies in Pakistan so if you fire someone they have it easy to find another job in the same industry. Plus people are leaving their industries to aim for high-demand industries. High-demand industries have such a high demand that they cannot find people from the same industry and will recruit anyone with slightly similar experience regardless whether they are from another industry.

The automotive industry has a habit of very low compensation which is why globally there have been factory riots, strikes and overall problems during the last 100+ years of carmaking. He knows he can string along these people without adjusting their packages for the inflation and interest rates, but once he fires them any new person recruited now or later will want market-competitive salary.

All in all he is practicing the general Pakistani habit of virtue-signalling whereas it is his loss if fired employees and workers, not their benefit if he retains them. Capitalists profit on the backs of peasants but still want the positive PR of somehow having obliged the peasants beyond their (peasant’s) perceived worth.
