I don’t beleive Kia Sorento is in trouble,it is too soon to talk about that, the fact they reduced their price is a good move in a time when everyone is increasing price.
Pakistan market isn’t ready for the 4th generation, not yet
For information when the 3rd generation of Sorento was launched in Europe the official Kia communication was to compete against the like of Volvo XC-90 and Audi Q7.
Is just in Pakistan lot of people underate this car, but overate chineses, it is choking to me, it is a blind love or what else ???

I don’t think (SORENTO) is in trouble…..

In global…well reputed companies have one of the products that sales is lower than others.

Think beyond the limits….on the past like BRV, Baleno, and others, have never heared of big three offers the same discounts and benefits.so why discouraging the new entrants strategies.

Sonata/Elantra, Civic/City, Yaris, Sorento, Sportage, Picanto, Mehran/Alto, show that it is not the 1990s anymore when companies can shamelessly insult the local customer by releasing globally retired old models. Pakistani consumer only wants the latest. Maybe Indus can get by it by occasionally delaying/skipping a generation and maybe Pak Suzuki can sell Mehran for 30 years and Bolan-Ravi for 42 years but no way are the customers accepting it from newcomers or specialty suppliers. The limit of patience of Pakistani customers is over now and even Pk Suzuki has seen the reception of 8th Alto is in their own benefit. Now automakers need to constantly be on their toes otherwise the public has woken up to their mafioso tactics and lobbying for closed imports, tax reductions and other blah blah.

I hate it when companies greatly reduce their prices for one of their models like this, because in Pakistan it can only mean one thing; they’re no longer making and selling these so they’re just trying to clear their inventory as quickly as possible; also meaning that there likely won’t be any after sales support of said discounted vehicle in the later years. This in the end just labels that vehicle as a trap for someone who’s gullible enough to buy for it and a warning for anyone else that owns that vehicle, leading to panic in the market causing the resale value for the vehicle to fall even more.

I think Lucky will either kill off Sorento and replace it with the new gen Sorento (not likely but possible) but it is highly possible that they will replace Sorento with one of the upcoming Peugeot models (possibly the 5008).
