I agree. The worrying thing is that the Picanto is not their main focus and poster child, at this moment it’s the Kia Sportage so Kia Lucky motors is just keeping all their effort over there…

Environmental impact and health impact of conventional fuels is no joke however EVs also have their own type of environmental impact so it is not suitable to go ga-ga over any one of them.

They are making great progress but not everything is fine and dandy. The Picanto (globally retired 2nd generation that we are getting here) allegedly has remarkably worse fuel economy than a New Cultus (the re badge Celerio) while costing more at the dealer, both being 1000 cc. People are only buying it for the rear button-operated windows or because Suzuki has put booking on hold because of global chip shortage.

It’s crazy how far Kia has come in terms of technology, reliability and design. A decade ago, a Kia was something you would consider when you couldn’t even afford a Toyota, Honda or Nissan. Now, it’s completely in a league of it’s own, with innovative and bold stylish designs no other common consumer car manufacturer has shown in it’s roster. I can easily say now, a Kia is now something you would consider when you don’t like the offerings of Toyota, Honda or Nissan quite easily! Just look at the latest Toyota Camry compared to the latest Kia K5, the Camry looks like it’s five years old in front of the K5. That’s how bold their design language has become.

this is another “publicity stunt” electric cars are harmful for the world but combustion engines are not. i would love to see if this car runs in real world conditions on broken roads and if it breaks down in the middle of the road or Kia will be able to make sure parts are available at Zakir Karyana store. till then i will drive an eco-friendly Bolan…
