It is just a common excuse for these assemblers to use whenever they want to increase their prices without any backfire

Dear Imran; i’am agree with you, but my personal thoughts it is also some customers, or some amateur wannabe knowing all people giving incentive to this kind of practices.
As you had seen and read the comment section about the article on Kia Peugeot cannibalizatioon.
Thus i’am total agree with you we cannot blame 100% the assemblers, our economy need to improve by two things, stop getting loan, with loan come the interest, making difficult to payback the debt.
The other thing is the unbalanced economy from import and export.
MG zs is isn’t produced locally, but how many are buying it ?, Haval isn’t produced locally how many are buying it ? etc
I’am planning to move in Pakistan but sure it will requires a lot of preparations, but also the administrative situation need to be improved, i know they are a lot of corruptions.

Auto assemblers here in Pakistan are wise enough about the business they are in since it’s their money which is at stake. They don’t care about what you, l or even usman bhai (despite his articles are well resarched and unbiasedly logical) comment. We can’t blame 💯% the assemblers while the fact is, it’s our country’s economic conditions that doesn’t seem to improve even in future. Who is responsible for usd crises giving reason to make such increases in prices of almost everything while a salaried person is earning more or less the same as was three years ago but expenses have almost doubled. This country is not good for a salaried people where the majority falls.

At least they could have used a more creative and different excuse rather than the same tired old “boo hoo rupee depreciation baw haw freight charges increased” excuse. It has been used so much by almost all of these assemblers at such random and different times that it has started sounding like a lie (which it probably is).

logic never apply when it comes to increasing car prices in Pakistan, and like Imran said in his comment, overall profits will remain same whatever the sale numbers are.

These Auto assemblers in Pakistan are not targeting general public and they the fact is they never did. They are aware that a certain segment of society will buy their products no matter what increase in prices is. They planned to earn a certain profit which if somehow impacted by lower sales or other factors stated in the article, will let them take this action. So overall profit remains the same whatever the sale numbers are.
