Maextro, a joint venture between Huawei and JAC, has been introduced as the fourth brand under Huawei’s Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance (HIMA). Its first model, the S800, was unveiled during the recent Huawei Mate brand event on November 26.

This luxury limousine, priced between 1-1.5 million yuan (approximately PKR 3.81 crore to PKR 5.72 crore), is now available for pre-order in China. Interested buyers must pay a deposit of 20,000 yuan (around PKR 7.47 lac) to secure their reservation.

The S800 is an imposing vehicle, measuring 5,480 mm in length, 2,000 mm in width, and 1,536 mm in height, with a wheelbase stretching 3,370 mm. Huawei’s Consumer Business Group CEO, Yu Chengdong, described it as being larger than 99.99% of cars on Chinese roads, positioning it as a D+ class executive sedan.

While powertrain details remain undisclosed, the absence of a traditional upper grille suggests it will be an all-electric vehicle. The S800’s design draws inspiration from luxury European brands like Rolls-Royce, Bentley, Maybach, and Porsche, which it aims to rival in the premium segment.

Key design highlights include a two-tone exterior paint scheme, a front bumper generously adorned with chrome accents on its lower section, and large disc wheels. The vertical headlamps are paired with light bars and feature star-patterned lighting, a motif that extends to the full-width taillights and the flush door handles.

A single teaser image of the interior showcases a “starry sky” ceiling and an abundance of high-quality, premium materials. The presence of two individual rear seats suggests a four-seat configuration, though more details about the interior experience will only be revealed once the car officially launches. Developed with Huawei’s expertise, the S800 is anticipated to offer Level 3 self-driving capabilities, as evidenced by the roof-mounted lidar.
