Well Mazda did came here courtesy the open-import policy which ended a few decades ago. It gave us rich cultural icons like the 323, 626, 808, 929, 929L, 1300, 1500 and the W-11!

Mostly people forget that Mazda also makes trucks (T3500, Titan), pickups (B2200) and vans (E2200).

It is a pity that everyone imported RX-8s and noone paid attention to Miata! A cursory search shows exactly 1 MX-5 for sale in PW Used Cars section https://www.pakwheels.com/used-cars/search/-/mk_mazda/md_mx-5/ vs 24 RX-8s.
