They are both difficult category for hatchback Suzuki got the upper hand, for the subcompact segment Yaris sedan is leader, for city i don’t know yet if it is selling well or not, alsvin made a good start, and saga is the most affordable one, apparently gearing up for deliveries will see…
In this segment competition will be hard.
Pakistan remains a small market, we cannot have the same thing as the big market.

Mazda 2 in either hatchback or sedan variant could really benefit in Pakistan and give good competition to Yaris, Alsvin and City.

Also Mazda cx-5 could be a nice compact SUV against the like of Kia Sportage
And it could very good to have the Mazda CX-9 the biggest SUV from mazda.

Their design language is both simple and filling in style. They make cars that don’t stand out too much in the crowd, but perform and deliver comfort just as everyone else, maybe more. They’re like the underdogs of the car manufacturing scene, making cars that can satisfy niche markets and common markets at the same time. Very sporty cars.

I think the reason why Mazda never really set foot in Pakistan was because in the 2000s they happened to be in the same financial position as Nissan back then; they weren’t making profits and were suffering losses. They then partnered with Ford (much like how Nissan partnered with Renault) and it proved to be quite fruitful, unlike Nissan’s case. Mazda under Ford made really fun cars like the MazdaSpeed 3 and the MazdaSpeed6, and of course the RX8. They also got into many foreign markets thanks to this deal, markets like the UK and Australia where Ford was already selling at a good name.

I think for Mazda to have effectively entered the Pakistani market back then in the 2000s, they would have to consort to Ford, which didn’t really happen, since there wasn’t much of American car brand presence in Pakistan, if not, at all. Mazdas back then were basically just Fords, they used Ford engines, Ford developed parts, Ford made designs, etc.
