Can you please clarify a few things.

“That is a good article, however, buyers of Mehran were already sick of Pak Suzuki offering a high priced car but not making it durable as it used to be in 2012.”
So now your argument has shifted from “mehan is the best” to “mehran was good only up to 2012”? Now you believe that there were only a few years in which the mehran was good. Or am I missing something?

“Besides, at its price and in last years off it being in the market, it had nothing extra to offer even over used Indus Corolla or Suzuki Baleno, in that time, a lot of Mehran buyers were buying these cars rather than Mehran.”
When did the mehran EVER offer anything that made it a better choice than the bigger Corolla or Baleno?
If your point is that at the end, they made the mehran so unrealistically expensive for what it was that it was close to the price of a used Indus corolla or a Baleno at the time, why is it a stretch to believe that people went for the better family option of the bigger cars?

“In other words, it was losing to an unprecedented competition. Therefore, in my view, the company had no choice but to offer a fuel efficient car, I believe that this factor is the only point that PKDM Alto has over other alternatives available to middle income class people.”
You do agree that the mehran was not fuel efficient? But at so many other instances you have sung praises of how good it is on fuel, can you please elaborate?
Don’t you think the comparatively “better” quality and more updated look and feel of the new alto made a difference to the people who bought it in such high numbers that it broke the mehran sales records?
The company itself in its press statements did acknowledge the fact that sourcing parts for the 40 year old car was getting next to impossible and very expensive, thus they had to let it go? shouldn’t that be a very big reason in stopping its assembly?

Forgive me but, it seems to me that you know how bad these old cars are, yet you keep on doing what you do… 🤔

The somewhat competition-void success of Alto as the replacement of decades old Mehran is proof that change is always better.

However, this made me think. Perhaps the reason why they are not doing the same thing for the Bolan and Ravi is because they’re not allowed to do so? Allow me to explain.

PakSuzuki had to presumably stop selling the Mehran because manufacturing costs from their Chinese vendors were getting too expensive to justify making them anymore, so they were forced to look for a replacement. I’m thinking they had to strike a deal with Suzuki of Japan to provide them with CKDs because parts of the new Alto was not likely available with these Chinese vendors (it’s not a local model over there and there isn’t technology transferred to them for this car).

I’m thinking they cannot achieve the same thing for Bolan/Ravi because Suzuki of Japan hasn’t allowed them yet/they couldn’t strike a deal with them for the CKD kits of current model Every. There isn’t any local model of Every manufactured in China as well (presumably) so they couldn’t take that option as well, meaning that they’re stuck with the current Ravi/Bolan.

However, if this is the case; PakSuzuki has another problem in hand. IF they are actually taking CKDs from Japan, that means they will also be forced to launch newer upcoming Alto model in Pakistan as well because CKDs of the current Alto won’t likely be manufactured anymore from Japan side.

This is just my opinion and thesis on this matter, I may or may not be wrong, so please correct me if I am. Thank you!
