Not exactly. This “boasting” is being covered in other automotive publications also. PW Blog also has an entry (Has MG Motor Really Booked 10,000 HS SUVs? NO!!! (pakwheels.com) which is one of the rare good articles and puts in strong arguments why they think it is a mere boasting.

agree that most of the bookings are made by deep pocket investors, at the same time 10,000 bookings doesn’t mean 10,000 sales. Bookings are generally made against 10-15% of vehicle amount so there is no denying the fact that investors have booked the car in huge numbers since in recent years the PKR 5.0 million price SUVs are doing reasonably well. Hyundai also grabbed 2,700 bookings on the first day of Tucson launch (according to unofficial sources) but has so far delivered just 448 units in three months. How many of these 10,000 MG bookings will be converted into real sales, only time will tell.
