On a 400V charger it will charge 100KM range in 5 mins. On an 800V charger it will double that in 5 mins.

So do we have those, widely available, on the motorway or in the cities somewhere yet?

Don’t get me wrong. EVs would be a welcome addition to the car choices here and a much needed one to finally start Pakistan on the road to electrification. But a lot needs to happen before such charge times are widely available in the country.

In other nations, the EV manufacturers work actively with governments to set up the charging infrastructures to make it easier for the masses to shift to EVs. Here it will be the opposite. Our problem is, our nation/government is reacting to the EV change rather than proactively working hard to make EV adoption easily for the masses. Many people will first have to buy many EVs for the administration to take any notice and then maybe do something to support it. And the old ICE vehicle manufacture mafia in our nation will not make things easy for the EV change/adoption either.

So, because of the lack of active support for the EV infrastructure, wide scale adoption will glacial in Pakistan at the very best . Poor us… 😞🥺
