Adjust just once and leave it there.]]> I have been talking to some of the store owners in my area. They are really facing problems from these fuel price increases. Every time they have to adjust their margins and sale prices especially in the last two price hikes. The reason being that the cost of getting their inventory gets adjusted because the local freight charges get revised. It is causing a lot of problems. Especially in the prices of fruits and vegetables.
In my area,we used to get nan for either 10 rupees or 20. Single or double. Now, we only get the 20 rupees one.
So these constant adjustments are causing problems.
Judging from the PM’s constant Indian petrol price comparison, they are really looking at 200 rupees plus for the local petrol prices.
Here is a crazy idea. Just hike the price once but by a huge margin. For example set the price at 200 from now. The people will throw a fit for sure but things will settle down and people will get used to it. (The motto of our Pakistan existence… Just get used to it 😂.) The constant problems and the constant pressure for the current model of incremental price hikes will also lessen.
Adjust just once and leave it there.
