Its good that a lot of people have finally figured it out that paying a around a coror for a compact sedan or paying, very much the same, for a mid sized sedan with a lot more options and a way better interior; they much rather have the slightly more expensive mid sized car. (Maybe that is what is eating into the sales of Honda. 🤔) "Nosediving Sales Figures Continue to Haunt Local Assemblers"But not enough to actually do something about it unfortunately. What should really haunt them is the fact that most of their fleet consists of outdated models. That, for the old three assemblers, they still mostly meet Euro Two standards only. IN THIS DAY AND AGE!!! 🤯. That, still, AFTER THREE OR FOUR DEACDES they are only effectively ASSEMBLERS. That even after three decades they cannot export anything mechanical, ONLY CARPETS! And that even the new comers seem to be following their very bad example. Changan promised exports and we are still only hoping; when, by now, the exports should have been well under way. And a government which is doing badly in supporting its industries and changing its policies like its a game of "throw it all at the wall and see what sticks". 😡 But most of all, it is the corrupt performance of the old three and their constant political influence/interference that led to the current situation where even they are suffering. Talk about Mutually Assured Destruction. Let that haunt you. Stop pretending to be victims... I’m really surprised by Chery’s performance. The Tiggo 8 is one heck of an on-road SUV. In other markets like Saudi Arabia, it has done well. It also won some award in the local market there last year for best new SUV with best tech.
I think this just shows market dynamics. The other obvious example of this is the Isuzu D-max. It is the top seller in Thailand, NOT the Toyota Hilux.

I’m glad that sales for Haval have improved a lot.
I’m also glad to see the Sonata doing great. Despite the efforts of the #one site, in its videos, complaining about some overblown “paint issues” of all things. 🤷‍♂️ (Over privileged Third worlders pretending to have first world problems🤦‍♂️).
